The Meta-Skill Is Learning to Learn

The roadmap I'd give someone today will look different in four years. The tools shift. Frameworks come and go. The job market evolves.

The most important skill you can develop isn't mastery of a specific framework. It's the meta-skill of learning how to learn.

Imposter syndrome is real I feel it constantly, and I'm sure engineers at every level do too. The secret isn't to overcome it. It's to understand that you'll never know everything, and that's fine. This career is one of continuous, lifelong learning.

A few things that actually help:

  • Code something small every day
  • Build things, break them, fix them
  • Ask for help without shame
  • Write down what you learn

Everybody's path is different. Make it yours.
